In a bid to clear the inventories of the 789 dealers recently earmarked for closure, Chrysler will extend a $1,000 voucher to its existing customers. The voucher will be good towards any new Chrysler-brand car or truck and will be valid through the end of June.
Chrysler recently announced it will be eliminating 25 percent of its dealer network, leaving about 44,000 in stock vehicles in limbo. Chrysler is hopeful the incentive program will help clear out that inventory.
Chrysler has yet to officially confirm the program, but Chrysler spokeswoman Lori McTavish told Automotive News “Chrysler is open for business and welcomes the opportunity to remind its customers just how valuable they are.”
The program is also intended to bolsters Chrysler’s overall sales. Chrysler’s sales tumbled 48 percent last month after falling 30 percent during 2008.
