Chrysler ’s accessories and parts division, Mopar, announced that it will be significantly expanding its online parts store offering to include such items as new crate engine line, Hemi engine blocks, and components for live TV in vehicles.
Chrysler is officially the first automaker in the US to offer live, mobile TV in their vehicles. This new offering known as FLO TV will feature up to 20 channels that will be received through a small mouse-sized antenna mounted on the roof.
Chrysler will debut FLO TV at SEMA and will begin offering the technology for purchase and installation at Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships as early as December.
To help move its customers around in a more timely fashion the eMopar store will also be adding several crate engines and three new Hemi offerings. The first ever all-aluminum option is a 6.1-liter block which is a direct replacement for the standard cast-iron 6.1 Hemi engine block. The next offering is a specially prepped 426 cubic inch V8. eMopar’s biggest and most extreme new offering is a rough-machined “X-block” that allows for machining to a final capacity of 7.6 liters.
Another noteworthy addition to Mopar’s engine offerings is a new 4.7-liter I-6 Stroker long block – which is a powerful upgrade from the 4.0-liter I6 widely known for powering Jeeps from 1991-2006. This powerful new straight six will boast 265 horsepower and 290 lb-ft. of torque. Jeep 4.0-liter I6 owners can swap their 4.0 for the new 4.7 for a perfect fit.
