Chrysler announced today that it will resume production at seven of its plants by the end of June. The automaker, newly unified with Italian automaker Fiat, kicked off the reopening of its idled plants on Monday with the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, which builds the Dodge Viper.
Chrysler will continue building 2009-model vehicles for a few weeks before closing the plants for the annual Summer Break when the necessary line changes are made to begin building 2010-model cars. The closure will last the weeks beginning July 13 and July 20, Chrysler says.
The reopened plants include:
- Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (Sterling Heights, Michigan) – Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger
- Warren Truck Assembly Plant (Warren, Michigan) – Dodge Ram and Dakota
- St. Louis North Assembly Plant (Fenton, Missouri) – Dodge Ram
- Toledo Supplier Park (Toledo, Ohio) – Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
- Brampton Assembly Plant (Brampton, Ontario) – Chrysler 300 , Dodge Charger and Challenger
- Windsor Assembly Plant (Windsor, Ontario) – Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan
- Toluca Assembly Plant (Toluca, Mexico) – Dodge Journey and Chrysler PT Cruiser
