Citroen has taken the wraps off of its Berlingo utility van. Available in Leisure Activity Vehicle and Light Commercial Vehicle guises, the current Berlingo has been on the market since 1996 and received an update in 2002. Since its introduction, Citroen has sold more than 1.76 million examples of the Berlingo.
Power for the Berlingo is sourced from a 110 horsepower diesel engine which uses a particle filter to reduce emissions.
In addition to the clean diesel, the Berlingo also features a hill start assist, a height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel, C4 Picasso running gear and ESP.
The current Berlingo will be sold along side the new model in some countries under the “Berlingo First” nameplate to serve as the range’s entry-level model.
The new Berlingo is set to hit dealer showrooms in the second half of 2008.
