Johnny, it was a beautiful car. I think it was more popular in Europe as representation of “classic” then Jaguar. It was a definition of “success” in 50-80’s just like large Benz.
Unlike Benz it was what most cars today are made of: front wheel drive (was evolutionary not revolutionary for Citroen), 4 cylinder motor, very roomy interior and panoramic view from airy saloon. Later was matched with Maserati engine. You have to give French pricks their dues – they did create marvelous engineering pieces: Concord, fast trains, smokeless powder and automatic cannons.

How is it that Citroen can announce the DS revival this week and have something in showrooms “next month,” but when Ford or GM announce they’re going to do something, the evidence trickles into showrooms three or four years later?

Like it or not…The classic DS is truly iconic and is the queen and a benchmark in french automotive industry ( thus the name ), so why make another? It’s just like the new Camaro and what have you; they all remind me of those ghastly Las Vegas Elvis impersonators. Leave it be and come up with something new, fast, light and beautiful!

with all of the cool concepts coming from Citroen, I bet it will look good, maybe not as quirky, but that is a good thing, that was an ugly-ass car…reminds me of a frog and a boat…
