Confirmed: Volkswagen Eos goes on sale in May

Volkswagen confirmed to Reuters that it will launch its Eos coupe-convertible in Germany on May 19th. Previous reports had suggested sales would begin in July. Earlier this month, Automotive News said production would begin March 13th. Production of the car had been delayed due to a wind noise problem. The delay of the highly anticipated hardtop-convertible was first reported by Leftlane late last year.

That’s actually a pretty car, and the interior is well done. Volkswagen just dropped the ball in making it front wheel drive. They are gonna have a Phaeton like flop on their hands if they try to price the 3.2L V6 Eos against the newly redesigned Infiniti G35 coupe. If Volkswagen can bring the Eos out fully loaded with V6, Dynaudio and navigation for 32K to 34K then it might be successful.

shoot even 32 to 34k is pushing it. the passat 3.6L 4motion starts at 31,900. this thing needs to start 10k less, 24k-28k.

This needs to be the VW alternative to the A4 Cabriolet, much like the Passat is the A4 alternative.

I think they should make it better than the VW Cabrio was, as it seemed to mostly be a chick car. This one looks very nice and very promising.
