Details of Chrysler ’s alliance with Fiat first surfaced last January, but the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing has shed a little more light on the subject. Per Chrysler’s court documents, as many as eight Fiat vehicles could be coming stateside, with Chrysler gaining access to Fiat’s engine technology.
The court documents confirm Fiat will supply Chrysler with its 500 mini car. Chrysler has yet to announce where it will produce the retro hatch, but the company’s Toluca, Mexico, factory appears to be the frontrunner at this point. The 500 will compete with the upcoming Ford Fiesta .

Additionally, Chrysler will gain access to Fiat’s Grande Punto. The Punto is a small hatch that could ultimately replace the Dodge Caliber. Fiat’s rugged Panda will also make the trek across the pond, possibly being sold under the Jeep banner.

As previously reported, vehicle’s based on Fiat’s C-Evo and D-Evo platforms will be sold as Chryslers, with the latter taking the form of the next-generation Sebring.

From Fiat’s Alfa Romeo stable, we will see the Mito, Milano, a larger sedan and possibly another hatchback model (Brera).

In addition to the aforementioned models, Chrysler will also gain access to Fiat’s 1.4L gas and 3.0L diesel engines, as well as the company’s dual clutch technology. Fiat, on the other hand, will get the Dodge Journey and Chrysler’s new Phoenix V6.
