You mean... Chrysler's had a designer? This is big news. Judging from the last ten years, you wouldn't think so. I thought the cars came from IKEA.

I think that just getting rid of the mid-80's style chrome grilles on most Dodges will make a big difference in the look of their vehicles. The ones on the Avenger and Nitro look like they were taken right off a 1986 Dodge Aries... I know most automakers want a common "look" to their front ends, but come on. A K-Car grille? Geez.

While they're at it, they should offer the diesel versions of their minivans like they have in Europe. The Voyager has an optional 2.8 CRD with 150hp, 265 lb/ft and it gets 43MPG highway and 25 MPG city (EU cycle). Lots of people need the extra room of a van, so getting a small car is not necessarily an option in one vehicle homes. Increasing the economy of their vans would make a huge difference. It might even give them an advantage over Toyota and Honda.

Finally! The guy responsible for green-lighting all the horrid designs that Chrysler has brought to market is leaving. He must have had some good dirt to hold the job for this long.

Good riddance.

Gilles has his work cut out for him.

Hey, Gilles is making HUGE strides in Chrysler. He is ONE of the best automotive designers out there at the current moment, and there's a lot of bright minds out there. There's also a lot of aging ones out there, and most of them are stuck in Chrysler.

And Gilles couldn't come at a better time. The problem I see at Chrysler is identity. Currently, Chrysler is trying to cover two markets, the one that used to be covered by Plymouth, and the one that Chrysler had always wanted to cover, the luxury market. Unfortunately, Chrysler can't decide. They have the Aspen, 300C, Crossfire and in many ways the Pacifica, which are all entry level luxury, or premium vehicles. Then Chrysler has the T&C, Sebring and PT Cruiser, all near bottom basement bread and butter vehicles. And THEN they have Dodge trying to cover many of the same markets. And then they have Jeep which is loosing market share fast.

Bring in a new 4 cylinder for the Wrangler. Make sure it's fuel efficient, I would tell Chrysler executives that averaging about 25 miles per gallon is their only option. New GC is on the way, and sounds promising. Just move Chrysler upmarket, and bring in some GOOD compact vehicles.

Hey you guys, look at this. Pretty interesting. I like his philosophy.

Yea, but looks wasn't really the problem with chryslers sinking ship. They had some fuglies, but they have had some lookers. Problem is there lack of fuel efficient motors.

Great, the Ram gets to 60 under 6 seconds. Wow. Great. I want to drag race my truck. I'll take enough torque to pull with a few extra mpg's thanks.

the interior of the new Ram is amazing compared to the old interior. Lets just hope he puts quality cars on the road again. Maybe the Demon & Hornet will see the light of day now. sooner rather than later.
