DaimlerChrysler has announced a new special edition Smart ForTwo known as ‘Edition Red’ to mark the phase-out of the current model, making way for the successor to arrive in spring 2007 (and in 2008 for the United States). The car will be exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in late September. The current model is virtually sold out as production winds down, DaimlerChrysler said. The Edition Red has a Brabus engine with 75 horsepower. It also has 16″ alloy wheels, a front spoiler, and rear sports muffler. As the name suggests, the body is pained in an “intensive red.” The interior is enhanced with “elaborately stitched” leather and alcantara. An MP3 interface, premium audio, and air conditioning are also part of the package. Gallery after the jump…

Haha those vids are funny. The Smart car gets no grip while turning though, but man when it beat that Ferrari… I’m sure Ferrari would be embarrased by a little car doing that!
Of course they say this is a safe car… the car stays in tact, but think of the G forces on the person in the car, and how much he is slung around. I think you would die or be seriously injured JUST because of that.

Ok, where did my comments go again? LLN, whatever it is FIX it!
I am not going to repost them, they seem to just walk away if I post a link sooooo… do a search on Smart Tuned on Youtube, and it will come up with all the performance vids of the Smart car. Someone happened to put a 200 hp Suzuki motor in a smart car… and things got crazy.
Anyways aside from the 200 hp “modified smart car” it’s funny that they are EVEN TRYING To make this look performance oriented.

You know, it’s pretty sad when an innocent story about a Smart car and provoke rednecks into the whole “we saved yore ass 60 years ago, so you should do whatever we say” mantra.
It’s not like the folks over there just stood by while we did all the work.
It’s also no secret that if the second front hadn’t been opened in Russia things might have gone differently.

the smart is Awesome but those of u who are from the US and think you are all good and all well it really can be summed up like this…
American = **** CARS
EUROPEAN = VERY GOOD CARS
Japanese = Good cars
even Australian cars (where im from) has better cars and we are quite average, u guys want us aussie’s to build the “Super Power country” ur next generation large cars thats for GM and Ford. thats sad ver sad considering Australia has like 280million people less than u yet we have enough to make better cars than u.
