Swerve: I’ve twice rented Aveos,and they get up to 85 without complaint. I was born here (although my father wasn’t) and I just say no.

But I’mnot shopping in this segment.

Don’t take my comment too seriously! I was trying to be sarcastic.
I am aware that the Aveo is infact a Daewoo, we have a Daewoo factory in Romania, which GM decided not to buy when it took over Daewoo. People didn’t like the these cars, but now that they are branded Chevrolet, everyone is acting like buying an Aveo is like having a “smaller Vette” =))
I know that the Aveo is not what you would call a success on the US market so it’s definitely not representative for the market.
In fact, this might be the biggest problem on the world stage today: brand-obsession.

PS: I forgot to mention: I have a Logan, so my comments are biased because of this.

I’ll be minority and state that Dacia is not ugly. It is utilitarian – it is a car for people who can’t afford BMW, Benz & Caddy. Majority of contributors to this site prefer and drive upper crust models from above mentioned premium brands, but the rest of the planet is not that wealthy. I think Dacia will find it’s way stateside via Nissan. I am amazed at engine choices for the car.

stinky, legr8est, tosta mista- And, your points are? I understand it’s not made to be a designer car, but just a run about. Americans have those too, only with better options, driving, quality, double the horsepower and standard features. Yet most of you base your opinions about American cars solely on those cars- Chevrolet Aveo, Suzuki Reno, etc (not even American designed cars).. I’d rather not, but I can’t help but notice the irony.

From what I’ve read it’ll sell around 9,000 USD, not bad considering the price, but qualities about on par with Tata- I would go for the Indica before this, but either way I’d kill myself over the decision- just buy used.

Chevy Aveo is Korean designed and not US built. Chevy only has in line up to help w/ CAFE. I have only seen meth addicts and illegal immigrants in Aveos in US. Any American would rather ride a pogo stick then drive an Aveo.

To SwerveEarly, you are obviously an ignorant little person who has no idea what you are talking about. People who live like the ones in your little rant cannot afford a car costing more than 5,000 euros. Also, this car will be perfectly fine for the traffic, roads, and drivers’ needs in Romania.
To SmallPenis6.40mm, you could have done a little research before posting an immature, unfunny question. It just shows how big a brain you have. (Hint: it’s smaller than your head…penis head, that is)
Onto looks now, it kind of reminds me of a Renault Clio.

Before making fun of Dacias, you should look up their prices…
As for Americans picking on this for being ugly: you’re right! It is ugly…
But let me be mean by saying the Logan got 3 stars from EuorNCAP when it’s main “american” competitor: the Chevy Aveo, got “almost” 1 and a half…
This car is based on the Logan so it is safe to say it will do at least as good as it in EuroNCAP’s test.
I’d rather have the uglier but safer car then…

This is car for 3 families to share, novel replacement for ox pulling 45 yr old Beetle w/chopped top, no doors and 4 different sized wheels. Roll-up windows, hand-crank wipers and heater are only options.
