DaimlerChrysler is considering selling Smart, its loss-making small car unit, either wholly or in parts, according to Germany’s ‘manager magazin,’ as cited by AFX News. The report also said CEO Dieter Zetsche is placing more emphasis on greater cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler, and as a result has approved the first major project for the two units involving the two brands producing models using the same engine and production platform, it added.
