The Maybach California Gourmet Tourer, equipped with an espresso machine and a wine rack, is just one of the offbeat entries in the Los Angeles auto show’s automotive design competition this year, according to Edmunds. This year’s theme was “An L.A. Adventure,” and entries included everything from a GMC Pad, a “rolling urban loft,” to the Audi Nero, a modern interpretation of the Auto Union racers of the 1930s. Other entries include the Scion Exile (Shown right), which takes its inspiration from an exotic midengined sports car; the Hyundai Greenspeed Gator, which harks back to the Top Fuel racers of the 1960s; and the amphibious Smart Rescue Vehicle.
