johnnyblazE- Unfortunately, that was 20 years ago. I would love to look around for a good condition, older Toyota pick-up, and the Nissan’s were great too, but most are piles of junk now. I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I see very few that aren’t beat to pieces, or the beds and fenders rusted out.

Ooh Top Gear huh! Surprise another media outlet that understands very little about trucks in the real world. Toyogasim again. Do you need a cigarette DrFill. I sell all three domestics 12 years now and Ford by no means truck for truck is the cheapest it is however the truck that has the lowest cost of ownership in the working realm. The media created the Toyota myth and smart moves by Toyota concerning issues and hedging timming on recalls added to it. Toyota builds the same junk as everyone hell ask a Sienna owner or a 2007 Camry owner.

Thank you DRfill. 320 whopping horsepower…….woo…ill take a 08 Sierra Denali with 400hp and a six-speed. Ford makes a decent truck in my book. Not powerful, not quality….but decent. The new GM trucks are much better. Read a magazine and learn something.

Lexus #1 luxury car in America for 6 years running. Best luxury car in America then, right?
I don’t expect anyone here to be objective, or even fair.
Wrong, loud, and inconsistent is no way to go through life, son.
Sales, retention, comaprison ratings, cap. income.
Pick a standard. Ford certainly is not it anymore.
The 2009 F-150 certainly doesn’t change anything.

By a good margin? In 2006, Ford managed to sell 20% more F-Series pickups than Silverados… In 2007, that margin shrunk to only 10% more units… However… As usual, if all of GM’s full-size GMT900 truck sales were calculated together (Silverado plus the identical Sierra), then GM clearly outsold Ford.

The best selling vehicle in North America is GM’s GMT900 full-size truck.

Just for clarification… Either way, the F-150 is still ten times the truck that some Tundra is…

I like ford but I’d rather have a GMC Sierra, much better looking, and it doesn’t have a retarded console shifter option. What the hell is Ford thinking? A console shifter for an auto trans doesn’t belong in a truck, or any car larger than a Pinto, IMO.

Ford F150 – selling current model for 5 years…
1.Outselling a Brand New Tundra 4 to 1. Yes, I have driven a few. It’s a tinny P.O.S. plagued by problems and cut corners.
2.Out selling a Brand New Silverado by a good margin. Decent truck, but Ford will pull out that much further again when this new 2009 hits the ground running.
3.Dodge? Nissan? They can’t even sell enough trucks together to equal half of F150 sales.
I think I heard a report that Ford sold more F150′s the first 4 months this year than all other Full size combined.
I guess the consumers checkbooks speak for it all..

I love you Toyogasmic types who talk from a very dirty place and just like Toyota you have zero understanding of trucks or what us Americans actually do with them. The Ford or Chevy for that matter actually puts down more torque to the wheels at far less rpm which is what would be required to “drag them around the parking lot”. Second any of the domestics will cause harm to the “Triple Tech frame” if this was actually ever tried. Lets see; tailgates that break with the weight of an ATC, cam shaft issues, worse fuel economy, a weak frame(why does the new Seqoia use a full boxed frame), suspension issues…..on and on it goes. As far as market conditions….Toyota missed its very weak sales target of 200,000. Wonder why? It is your typically Toyota crap that gets a huge media pass. Keep following the Toyota myth

Dr. Fill- Tundra’s literally flat right now. They’ve been barely able to move 100k units a year with huge incentives. The whole market is falling right now at a pretty abnormal rate.

I don’t know if the Ram will be better, the last one wasn’t all that great and the interior seemed very cheap. The V-8 options are great competitors against GM, Ford and Toyota, but with all the simple technology they employ, the should be able to get atleast one or two miles to the gallon better than they do now. The newer Ram looks great, but so does the new F-150, and I think with my experience with a current Ford and Dodge, I would go for a Ford anyday.

Dr Fill ford sells 700k on a bad year and the tundra does what 300k? Not even half but it is supposed to be a better truck? If thats the case, why not even half the sales? Oh thats right, the buying public doesn’t know what they are doing. we should all listen to a couple of magazines that sat in a truck and now think that they are the gospel. Good luck with that.

The last generation Tundra was actually a very good truck. The newest one is from what I’ve heard a pile of poo. I haven’t sat in one, so I can’t say much, however I have driven the new Silverado and last generation F-150, sat in the new F-150 and own a 96′ XLT model, and I can testify that it has a lot to live up to. The new Silverado is to put it mildly, pretty amazing. Not very amazing looking, not the BEST performer, but it’s very comfortable, high quality, quiet and flexible.

Like most of the others, I’ve only been driven in and sat in the Ridgeline, and although it doesn’t seem like that bad of a mid-size or compact truck, it didn’t have a sturdy, solid feel like you expect pick-ups to have.

Wow, tundra just got it’s $h!7 pushed in hard. Sry, ford has always owned in the trucks departement, toyos and chevys can say what they want, but who ever brought up the construction (YOUR RIGHT). Ford is recommended for a reason. And this come from somethat that has a turbo diesel F250. The trucks rock and nothing can be said. Period…

But who are they really?

Ford can say, and will say, anything to stay ahead of Tundra, and Ram and Silvy too. You all know Ford will say anything to make a sale at this point.

Ford used to sell 950k F-150 a year, now 700k, and still dropping, there’s a reason for that.

I worked for Ford for 3 years, so I already know why. Do you?

I worked for toyota for a while. During the launch of the new Tundra. Everything they said about the truck, I had to think to myself g sounds like a ford, g sounds like they took that from the chevy. g sounds lik……. get the point, they took everything good about all the other trucks and tried to make it all into one. But it is not better at all. Just like the other comments. However it does have good brakes good powewr but overall it just doesnt stand up. And it just doesn’t look right.

Sounds like time for invervention dude, your brain is non-functional.

The F150 out tows it, it is the class leader. The F150 won’t cease up during work for the torque converter like the tundra does. The F150 tailgate won’t collapse under the weight of a lawnmower, like the tundra. The F150 bed stays firm on the rough road test. The tundra shook so much it caused earthquakes on the other side of the world in china. The tundra bed actually gashed the cab it shook so much. The F150 won’t rust in half like 5 year old tundra.

The rugged F150 was used to build the tundra plant not the tundra which is relegated to hauling flower pots for Martha Stewart wannabes. Just like the femmeline and the titan, the tundra is like good soup, it goes down fast and gets its lunch eaten against the likes of Ford & GM.

If you would have said a Silverado, you might have had an argument but your just another consumer reports retard, who doesn’t recognize how much toyoduh has fallen in the past 5 years.

Are you kidding me, a tundra? Is that even considered a truck? Toyota hona and Nissan should join the worst truck on the planet club. There more like tonka toys. Last i heard, the F-series has been the best selling truck for the past 31 year. Best in class towing, so if the tundra can tow it around the parking lot, the f-series can tow three tundras. Also best in class payload. Go to any construction site and tell me what brand you see. Any person the uses a truck like its intended to be used, would not be caught dead in a tundra. Gets your facts straight dumb ass.
