A new interior photo of Lexus’ upcoming Detroit show concept car has made its way online. While it doesn’t reveal much, aside from what looks like confirmation that the car will be a two-door with a highly sloped roofline, we can see what appear to be some nicely-crafted details inside.

The concept is scheduled to take to the Detroit stage on January 9.

Lexus says the concept – which was penned at the automaker’s design studio in Newport Beach, California – showcases “the new design direction embraced by Lexus.â€

From what little we can see, it appears as if the concept will build upon the design language of Lexus’ latest GS. It’s difficult to say what form the concept will take from the lone teaser image but, judging by the car’s aggressive front end and large wheels, we’d put our money on a performance-oriented two-door. Lexus has been without a coupe/convertible to compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz SL and BMW 6-Series since the SC went out of production, and there is plenty of room to fill the gap between the current IS convertible and LFA super car.

Check back for more details and live images of Lexus’ mystery concept car early next month.
