Diatto Ottovu Zagato headed for Geneva

02/13/2007, 2:10 PM

By admin

Coachbuilder Zagato has released the first image of its latest creation, the Diatto Ottovu Zagato. The car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month, powered by a supercharged Maserati V8.

The project was commissioned to to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Diatto brand. Back in 1921, Ugo Zagato designed a lightweight and aerodynamic body for the Diatto 25 4DS chassis.

Zagato has not said what vehicle it used as the basis for this new car, but it appears to share proportions with the Jaguar XK. More information is expected in the coming weeks.

big red clown nose thats just too funny.
i guess its getting hard to design a car that doesnt look similar to something else, but all in all this is nice and sleek, in a corvette/599/viper/xk kind of way.

Horrible design. The headlights are disgusting. GM & Ford designers couldn’t even create this monstrosity of ugliness. Bad…very bad.

It does have very XK proportions, especially the front with its flight overhang followed by the wheel followed by a long space of sheet metal before the door begins. The front does not look good and looks like something a middle school student might draw when entering a car-design completion at the local fair.

I expect a lot more from a venerable name like Zagato.

Zagato always use, as a base for his creations, production models of other brands…I looks like this time he made it on the new jaguar XK and that’s why so many of u can see similaryties.

The front nose is so damn droopy… They need to give it some lines and make it look sharp. The wheels also suck.

Looks like a stretched FIAT coupe and that nose is grim, way too much front overhang emphasised by the heavy-handed design. Must have been a bad year at Zagato if this is the best thing they could find to take to Geneva.

With a Vanquish S thread just below, this car is horribly underwhelming.

The headlight pod is all wrong. This is the least attractive of recent Zagato designs. Looks like the old model Hyundai Coupe with all those ill prepared shapes.
