Did Ford cave to conservative group over gay ads?

Ford said on Tuesday that its luxury Jaguar and Land Rover brands will no longer advertise in gay publications, but denied that the nation’s second largest automaker made the decision under pressure from conservative Christian groups, according MSNBC. Ford may deny it caved to pressure from the “American Family Association,” but the group is ending the boycott it first announced against Ford brands on May 31st. “We are ending the boycott of Ford,â€? association Chairman Donald Wildmon said in a statement Wednesday on the group’s Web site. “While we still have a few differences with Ford, we feel that our concerns are being addressed in good faith and will continue to be addressed in the future.â€?

What if the KKK said to Ford, “no more advertising in negro magazines”?

As a Ford owner and — sadly — a Ford stockholder, this action is very disturbing. Ford has come down on the side of fear and hate that groups like the AFA promote under the cover of Christian Morals. It’s probably finely time for me to sell my Mustang and Ford stock. I don’t want my name associated with cowards like Bill Ford.
