For 2010 Dodge has a reason to celebrate – 40 years of rich muscle-car heritage. To commemorate the big anniversary, Dodge has decided that it will produce two limited edition Challenger models – covered in what they are calling ‘Furious Fuchsia’ paint.
Dodge has long been known for its bold and often bright color choices, so what color would be better to follow the controversial Plum Crazy or the coveted Go Mango colors than eye-popping Furious Fuchsia? Dodge will offer this limited edition color on both the Challenger R/T and the range-topping SRT8 model.
“Commemorating four decades of Challenger performance, the new R/T Classic and SRT8 Furious Fuchsia editions modernize one of the most memorable hues from 1970 to create a modern muscle-car that exudes more performance, passion and even more nostalgia,” said Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of Dodge.
2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic Furious Fuchsia
The Challenger R/T in Furious Fuchsia will feature dual throwback A-line body-side R/T stripes in either matte black or bright white, in addition to 20-inch polished-aluminum heritage-edition wheels, a body-color rear spoiler, functional hood scoop and a bright racing style fuel-filler cover.
Stepping inside, the panels, gauge cluster, headliner and slanted shifted console all pay homage to the original Dodge Challenger with their trapezoidal designs. The interior is decked with pearl white accents on the performance-style seats, as well as a combination of dark slate gray and Furious Fuchsia French-seamed stitching (optional).
Dodge says that the R/T Classic Furious Fuchsia includes the Track Pack with pistol-grip shifter, anti-spin 3.92 rear differential and a performance-tuned dual exhaust – all good for a zero-to-60 sprint of less than six seconds. The R/T features the 376 horsepower, 410 lb.-ft. of torque 5.7-liter Hemi V8.
2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Furious Fuchsia
For those looking to step up to the massive 6.1-liter, 425 hp Hemi V8 – you’re in luck. Dodge will produce just 400 SRT8′s in Furious Fuchsia, making this bold muscle-car a strong candidate for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The SRT8 Furious Fuchsia will enjoy the same interior and exterior treatment as its R/T counterpart, but with the expected upgrades that normally adorn the range-topper.
Exclusive to the SRT8 will be 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels, a serialized dash plaque and retro-inspired chromed quad-exhaust tips.
Production will begin for the R/T and SRT8 in Furious Fuchsia in May 2010.
