Dodge Caliber production begins

12/23/2005, 11:07 AM

By admin

The first Dodge Calibers rolled off the line this week at the automaker’s renovated assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois. The Calibers that were built this week were pilots– destined for photo shoots, marketing and employee training– but full-scale Caliber production will begin in mid-January, Daimler-Chrysler spokesman Edward Saenz told the Associated Press. Chrysler revamped the Belvidere production line so it could build multiple models, including the Caliber crossover, which will replace the Neon. Earlier this week, we reported that after much waiting, the first Jaguar XK coupes rolled off the line in Britain.
