Although Chrysler doesn’t have much to celebrate about these days, tomorrow will mark a major milestone for the Michigan-based automaker. Tomorrow at Chrysler’s Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, the 25,000th Dodge Viper will roll off the assembly line.
Viper production began in 1992 at Chrysler’s New Mack Assembly, but shifted to the Conner Avenue location in in 1995. A year after, in 1996, the GTS coupe joined the RT/10 roadster in the Viper lineup. In 2003, the Viper saw its first major redesign, which also included a bump in displacement and power.
The keys to the 25,000th Viper will be handed over to NASCAR driver Kurt Busch for being the top Dodge driver in 2007.
