Dodge managed just 250 Dart sales in June - the compact's first month on the market - and 850 deliveries last month, but August's final tally should be above the 3,000 unit mark. Dodge is calling for "substantially more" in September, according to the Detroit Free Press.
"We're a little bit out of the water with stick [shifts]," David Kelleher, owner of a Chrysler dealership in Glen Mills, Pa., told The Wall Street Journal. "We sell so few of them."
But Chrysler is now ramping up production of its dual-clutch Dart model, which should lure more buyers. The dual clutch model promises 28mpg in the city and 40mpg on the highway.
