In October, Leftlane reported that Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler were considering a number of collaborations, including a Volkswagen minivan and Dodge-branded VW Polo. The minivan rumor has since been confirmed, but the Polo rumor has yet to develop into an official partnership. However, a new report by Automotive News Europe suggests DaimlerChrysler will make a final decision by the midyear. “It would not be necessary, but welcome if we could offer a B-segment model for Dodge,� DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche was quoted as saying. “There are a number of potential options for such a model. VW is one of them and it is still open.�
