one thing is right about need turd for gm… owner loyalty is great with gm cars… people who got one wont get rid of it… those cars will ruin you if you try to sell one… nobody wants them, even when theyre new, but dont get started about selling a used one… craptacular…

Every other truck out there will always play second fiddle to the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Everyone would rather drive a well built, durable, reliable, Amefican made truck than a POS japanese tin can or an unreliable, low quality Ford or Dodge.

Dr_Fill- The weakness the Tundra has is it’s frame and weight. Everybody goes on about how the interior isn’t that good. Well, it is. But the frame flexes tremendously over pretty much anything. Squeaks everywhere, vibrates like a phone plugged into a wall outlet, and reliability so far has been so-so. You better get out of the way of a Tundra not because its mean, but because it has weak brakes. I’m not sure if it’s any heavier than any other trucks, but it feels heavier and has a pretty long stopping distance.
I’d have to be as ambitious as Michael Phelps to tow near it’s max weight, and stupid enough to be smoking out of a bong too.

LET ME TELL EVERYONE THAT 75% OF TRUCK BUYERS ARE “BRAND LOYALEST”……..
THE OTHER 25%, JUST DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE BUYING.

Ya you have Toyota and Nissan, but in the world of Fleet sales…
Look at this point of view for a sec.
A work truck will brake, it will happen. the cost of repair X the cost of maintenance X the cost of the “truck”.
You own a business, you need 3 work trucks, do you buy some thing that will give you a rebate? A low APR for business? Do you buy from a brand that you see everyone else use? Or do you be different? What if one of your trucks get’s wrecked, do you call a salvage yard and hope they have parts, or you call knowing what they and at what price?

That is what motivates a Big Company to a small business to buy a Ford, Chevy or Dodge. The truth is that all 3 trucks can do the same job at for the same price. That why it’s the “BRAND LOYALEST” that that buy a $40,000.00 truck! You can buy the same truck with out leather, heated seats, sun roof, navigation, and so on… What do you think the sticker is on a Chevy Silvarado with a V-8, tow package can be? $35K, $30K, $25K… what if I told you $23K…

It’s all comes down to what brand you like. And if you need one let me know I’ll give you a good Price.

I think wihout a doubt the Dodge RAM is Best looking Full Sized Pickup Truck out there on the Market and very capable at 390 Ponies, But when it comes to real truck duty that forte might belong to the Ford F-150
I mean Only 320HP but it has a much greater tow capacity than the RAM. And that could be the reason Motor Trend and LLN don’t see eye to eye on the evaluation of Best Full Sized Pickup.
Motor Trend gives the F-150 the nod and LLN gives the RAM. I guess it comes down to what you want and need out of your Truck.

Anyway, 02wrxpsm, you’re right. I saw a brand new F-250 Lariat (gas)being sold for $53k. This was when gas at $4 a gallon. I was thinking of the stones on Ford at that point.

Snooze fest. Truck reviews are boring, especially when they are testing $50K lumps that most of us can’t/won’t buy. Why don’t they test a more base model in the mid-$20K range and tell us which is less of a piece of crap. I really don’t care which of these two top models has the better nav system or heated/cooled seats… I’m pretty sure mine won’t have that.

when we are on test drives in the new ram it seems like everyone we pass gives the truck a second glance. i have been selling chryslers for a while and the new ram is by far my fav vehicle.

If I were in the market for a very large car I would choose the Ram. It’s got 20″ “bling bling” wheels, nice storage feature in the sides of the bed, smaller mirrors, and it sits lower. Plus the heated steering wheel would be nice if I didn’t mind wearing gloves in the winter. But if I were looking for a TRUCK, I would go with the Ford. To me a truck is suppose to be rugged, mean, bold, durable, and look like it can handle massive abuse.

Even though both of these, as well as other “trucks”, can do the work, the Ford looks like what it’s meant to be.

If you NEED a truck you go with the F150
If you want a truck but don’t need a truck go with the Ram
A Supercrew FX4 with out any extras can pull 11100 no need to add a max tow pkg.
Racing two trucks head to head is as useful as seeing how many footballs fit in the trunk of a sports car.
It’s all about low end torque not zero to 60.
Today’s truck buyer needs towing and payload. No more posers buying trucks these days. With that coil spring Dodge took themselves out of today’s market.
Ford wins
Dr Fill know dick about trucks.

Platinum uses completely different materials from inside the cab,and extra sound dampening materials. It would be nice if someone would compare that to the dodge.

Than you haven’t seen it tested 100 times since it’s come out
It has more room, more safety, aces IIHS crash tests, and does the work of a 3/4 ton rather easily
Interior design is it’s weakness.
Dynamics are it’s strength
I like the Rams look a little better, but still has more style than Ford or Chevy
Sorry to break it to you.
C&D just did a 40k mile test on it.

I’d love to see Dodge pull out some strong sales with this sweet truck. It would have to be a miracle to help Chrysler out that much though, especially with such crappy mileage. But, it is a truck after all.. I sure like the Dodge over the Ford though.

It comes down to availability. The only 4×4/crew cab/short bed/non-base model Ford could offer us was a Lariat. We would have preferred the King Ranch since it’s closer to the Ram Lariat, but one wasn’t available. And, aside from fancy leather, it doesn’t offer any tangible difference over the Lariat, meaning that the final finishing order wouldn’t have changed.

When it comes to 4×4/crew cab/short bed/luxo models, the Ram wins.

the point of the test was to test over all performance not how much ICE and how many cup holders they had. I’m honestly impressed with dodge for this. If I had the credit and the bread, I’d spring for the RAM for sure. The grill took a little getting used to though.

i must admit, im usually a fan of the japanese cars and suvs over the domestics, but i would take either of these over a tundra or titan. major improvement over the old model for the ram. good work guys
