Late last week, a published report indicated that Dodge Challenger Concept was on track for production as a 2008.5 model. A source at supplier Collins & Aikman reportedly told NewAgeMuscleCars that the company was already working on engineering certain components of the car on behalf of Dodge . Not true, says Chrysler ’s outspoken PR man Jason Vines. In a conversation with Edmunds, Vines said, “they don’t know what they are talking about,” regarding the supplier report. Vines said Chrysler has gone to suppliers to get cost estimates, but that doesn’t mean the project has been approved. He said Chrysler is still working on the business case, but a decision will come before the end of the year.
