Dodge scored humorous Bradgelina ad placement

06/14/2006, 5:25 PM

By admin

Just before going to press with its much-hyped photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s baby, People magazine called many of their significant advertisers, offering them a placement opportunity beside the pictures. Chrysler’s quick-thinking media man Mark Spencer immediately realized Dodge’s “anything but cute” ads would juxtapose perfectly beside the cute Shiloh Pitt. “It’s Perfect,” said Spencer. “We are quite pleased with the placement in such a high profile story in a magazine heavily read by our customers.” Photos after the jump…

I understand why LLN, or anyone else want to watermark their original photos. If every story is credited, who wrote the copy for the Mercedes story below this one? If LLN wrote it, wouldn’t you want to put a simple by line?

Harvey, Its Ahk-Med, and how would you know if I’m Muslim or not?

Ahk-med: I’ve told you before, press releases do not need to be credited. We were given that PR (the mercedes lawsuit) and we edited it to remove bias tone and we published it. The creators of the press release did not ask that it be credited, so we have no reason to. Only thing that would do is benefit our competition.

I don’t get them either. Ahk-Med- if you don’t like the site and you’re offended, why bother subjecting yourself to it? No one’s forcing you to visit and post your thoughts.

You realize you put your logo and name on a copyrighted image? Not to mention you didn’t pay for the image in the first place.
