Dodge to auction off first 3 production Challengers

09/17/2007, 12:50 PM

By Drew Johnson

Dodge has announced that it will auction off the first three Challenger scheduled to roll off the assembly line next year. Set to be built at Dodge’s Brampton, Ontario assembly plant, the first three Challenger examples will be SRT-8 models with HEMI Orange paint, hood stripes and the 6.1L V8 engine.

The first car will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona which runs between January 12-20. All proceeds will benefit notMYkid, an organization that promotes understanding of youth behavioral issues. The second car will be auctioned off on September 26th, at a private event for Dodge dealers, with proceeds going to the United Way of Southeastern Michigan. The third car will be auctioned off on eBay, although Dodge has yet to release details on that auction.

It is a gorgeous car! I do love 70’s due to my age. But how they gonna pull out of slump with cars loaded with Magnums in a day of $80/barrel oil? God bless private equity.

Starting off with SRT-8, are they? When the auctions are over, with the money they’ll bring in, they better be SRT-8s!

The only 3 of these that will ever be sold. The rest will rot on the lot. People will be lined up for the Camaro, doubt they’ll waste their time and money on another inferior pile of crap from Chrysler.

This and the Camaro have been presented to death to the public. I’ve never been sicker of a car in my life before it even hit the street.

These two cars have already worn out their welcome. They can **** each other.

Its gonna be a real LOOKER this one… and fast too with the Hemi I hear as well.. I can’t wait to see how this is going to stack up performance wise against the New camaro.. I like them both right now, i’m sure there will be LOTS of road and track tests of these two cars against each other… can’t wait to see how it turns out.. The Mustang isn’t even going to be in the same league as these too…so mustang should enojoy it while they have it all to themselves as it won’t be for long now..

only a bunch of meat-whistling import lovers would hate this car… and that retard gm-sales. Speaking of whom, do you realize that you’re not helping anybody.. not even yourself? As much as I love the company and my Buick and Cadillac, I’ll be the first to admit that GM has put out some **** over the years. The new camaro is going to be nice, but it is in no way going to detract from the awesome-ness that is the Challenger….

Once again though, the moons must be in alignment or something, cause I once again agree with the ass-clown deanster (that’s been happening far too often lately…) We’ve seen too much of these cars… to the point where they almost look dated – and they haven’t even been released yet! Still going to be one hell of a car though…

Like I said before, deantj and lamborginiz are butt buddies. I like how you changed your names to try and disguise yourselves. I’m hardcore Chevy fan and even I think this thing is badass.
GM_SALES, you’re giving all us GM guys a bad rep you dumbass.
C’mon, Commodore, I remember back when the current mustang was all over the web as a concept and look how it’s doing. Rather well.
