After Chrysler decided to separate its Ram truck lineup into its own division, enthusiasts and brand devotees had been wondering what would happen to the iconic “Ram’s head” logo.
Now, we have a definitive answer. Earlier today, Dodge took the wraps off of its redesigned Durango SUV, and although interior images are in short supply, one shot clearly reveals Dodge’s new, symmetrical logo.
It fits into roughly the same space where the Ram ’s head once rested, although it looks a little narrower to our eyes. The crosshair-style logo is clearly inspired by Dodge’s signature grille design.
Earlier, some speculation had arisen suggesting that Chrysler would simply bestow a pair of red, forward-canting stripes on all Dodge vehicles as the brand’s new logo, but apparently that won’t be the case.
Look for the new logo to debut on Dodge’s slew of redesigned or refreshed products set to see the light of day in the coming weeks – including the 2011 Dodge Charger Challenger, which sported the old logo in our recent round of spy photos.
