Dr. Z campaign will go on

08/17/2006, 6:10 PM

By admin

Despite criticisms, Chrysler’s “Dr. Z” campaign will continue through the end of the year, reports BrandWeek. A spokesperson said some of the ads could be revised after September 5th, when the current ads are scheduled to end. “Dr. Z could be used to promote some of our upcoming products, like the [Chrysler] Aspen and the [Dodge] Nitro,” said Eileen Wunderlich, marketing communications rep for Chrysler. “Dr. Z could also be used for more image advertising, so some of the current ads may come back. But,” she added “there will be a next phase for Dr. Z. There is nothing in creation yet, we are only in the talking stage for more.”

Also,

There is a strong history at Chrysler for a strong leader/pitchman, perhaps a corporate culture based on Walter’s reportedly vibrant personality…

Just keep him from saying **** like Lido did:

“If you can find a better car, buy it” just leads folks to the local Honda or Toyota dealer

I think instead these ads should be more of Dr. Z bossing people around. “pick up my dry cleaning!” “don’t make eye contact with me!” “Know your role!”
