Driver survives massive accident

An Audi dealer suffered only minor injuries after a horrific car accident involving his Audi TT, a bus, and a truck. Investigators say the out-of-control truck was overloaded by 16,000 pounds and was running on bald tires. A camera on the bus captured how the accident unfolded. The crumpled remains of the car left many wondering how the 39-year-old survived. Yet he only had minor injuries. A video of the accident and an interview with Pacelli can be seen here.

This is really impressive. When my 1990 Mazda 626 was hit by a GMC Brigadier medium-duty running a red light at >60 mph, the damage to the car looked a lot less severe than this, but the injuries I sustained were a lot more serious (not fatal, obviously, one I was airlifted to the trauma center, but I was in CCU for 5 days and 12 more in the hospital before I could leave).

Wow. Audi had some pretty good publicity this weekend. First they win Sebring with a TDi car and now this happens and the guy survives. What else could happen?

Wow, that’s TT is crushed. I can’t imaging how anyone could survive that. Those Audi’s must be pretty tough.

David, I was at Sebring on Saturday. The Audi R10 car was unbelievable. Not only did it completely blow away all the competition (again), but it was far and away the quietest, cleanest, most efficient car there. It was an amazing car to watch. Go Audi!!!
