Drivers run dry to beat gas prices

Some drivers in California re resorting to desperate measures to beat the surge in gas prices at the pump, reports Reuters. The news agency says some motorists are deliberately running dry on the state’s freeways and simply waiting for rescue, and the free gallon of gas that comes with it. “Every time fuel goes up, we start noticing it. But right now we are noticing it a lot more,” Andy Lujan, owner of California Coach Towing, said. “You say to some of them ‘hey, you’ve run out of gas’ and they say ‘yeah, it’s too expensive.’ I think the percentage is going to increase,” Lujan said.

agreed – what’s up with that? They are willing to waste their time and other people’s time for $3 worth of free gas?

Pretty sad that it’s widespread enough to warrant a story actually. :(

C’mon guys, isn’t an hour of your time, the tow driver’s time, and the burden on the taxpayers of California worth the $3?!?

I CAN believe that people are this stupid and cheap. Unreal that they wont buy gas at $3 per gallon. Wait until this summer when it goes higher, and then next year, woo hoo! I should have bought OIL stocks years ago.

Somehow, me must let Darwin-ism run its course.
Clearly, the herd must be culled.
