And as far as daddy’s little girl type cars, you could say the same for Boxters, BMW 3-series cabrios, Mustangs, Minis, Beetles, and just about anything else. Especially here in SoCal.

I think the main reason in price markup over the reg. 55 AMG is due to the more solid chasis because of its being a hardtop rather than the traditional covertible. Just like the Cayman and Boxster. Same car but Cayman costs more because its a hardtop. Why? Don’t ask me. Also another reason is for its Uber-rareness. I mean theres the SLK then theres the SLK55 AMG THEN theres the SLK55 AMG Black Series. However, I will agree that the amount of money is too much and I’d be satisfied with just a SLK55 AMG.

the markup is high and the hp boost is minimum. because mb doesnt want SL 55 and 65 buyers feel bitter and ripped off.

Part of the price hike with this car is the exclusivity. Some people might have an SLK, some might have a SLK55 AMG, but how few will have a SLK55 AMG Black Series?

Sometimes, cars are about mre than hp increases and the 100 lbs may not seem like much, but this car has been worked over from topp to bottom. This is a real drivers car that would be a blast to drive. Plus, that price is high, but this is one of the very few car that could actually be a real investment. In 10 years or so, this car will be worth more that it was purchased for.

Its funny when a Mercedes doesn;t have half the style or class that a 26k Saturn Sky has. #9 hit it right on the money, this car is for girlies and queers. Rich morons who spent way too much money on an overrated pile of crap. Head to your local Saturn store for a Sky that is the sexiest, coolest roadster on the market if you’re smart

The problem with all mercedes cars are that no car enthusiasts are going to buy them. Real drivers like to make their own choices. What they don’t want is to have an automatic that makes it for them. This car will be bought by people that have more sense than money. Probably Paris Hilton then.
