I strongly disagree. That interior is hideous. All that silver makes it look extremely cheap. My wife and I were looking to buy either the Prius hybrid or the Camry and were strongly repulsed at the look of the Camry inside and out. I’m a butt guy and the rear end on the Camry really needs to be redesigned. What were they thinking. A Ford Edsel looks gorgeous next to this car.

Yeah, as you pointed out, I can afford a datsun or a faux-luxury toyonda. Nissan/datsun doesn’t make a car that’s in the category I’m buying in (murano/fx only seats five, and I don’t want a truck-besed SUV (Armada/QX 56) or a Minivan (Quest).

Can you for certain say that every single person from those nationalities living here in Canada is a terrorist? Wouldn’t there be more acts of terrorism here in Canada or down in the states if that were the case? I only can think of the suspected terrorists – the infamous Toronto 18 – that were arrested here last year as fitting your descripton. Some of them have already been found not guilty.

The welfare thing I cannot disagree with you on. I’ve seen it firsthand myself, and I think it’s disgusting, especially as a taxpayer, but simply pinning it on immigrants won’t help much in regards to solving the problem, even if that were wholly true.

I live in TO, and it seems fine to me. Not much of a powder keg here. I’ve only visited Montreal (and Quebec) once in my life for only a few days. Needless to say, it was after 9/11 and I did not receive a warm reception at all. But otherwise, I’m not qualified to comment on the state of affairs in MTL. There are other issues that might be at play there, too, however, such as the ongoing dispute over Quebec sovereignty. Most of the Quebecois, in general, dislike the rest of Canada, to say the least.

I’ve not seen a SuperSize option in any McDs I’ve ever been to here in Ontario. Maybe it does exist in some parts of the country, I’ve honestly never seen it.

I’m not trying to suggest Canada is superior to America in any way (except right now for the value of the dollar), so I don’t know how best to respond to your other points about obesity, gun violence and healthcare. I’m not sure what point you were trying to make.

‘obhatti’, “comfort and safety” … every car in this segment provides those two requirements … you really believe the vast majority of these buyers can differentiate between a Mazda 6 and this, if they were blindfolded? Get real, it’s reputation that sells here, nothing more.

I don’t know why I bother discussing these same issues over and over again … this is basic transportation for the masses, nothing more. And to argue where one has marginally better reliability but looks like ass compared to another is moot.

The Kumbaya mentality of Canadians from the 80’s until around 2000 is quickly going extinct. Right about now, Canada has become a cesspool of terrorists, hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Algerians, Moroccans, Afghanis, Iraqis, and Pakistanis all using multiple spellings of their last names to pull in 10 welfare cheques each, and generally a society of people split into factions that loathe each other.

At least that’s what’s happening in the big cities, ie. TO and MTL. Montreal is a powder keg, about to explode. I’ve never seen so much intolerance and hatred bottled up in my life. It makes the U.S. look like a Disney show.

BTW, we have SuperSize options at McD’s, and we also the exact same obesity prevalence of around 28%, and we’ve also got a failing healthcare system that’s about to end, and also we’ve got 7 million REGISTERED guns for 30 million people, and we’ve also got the planet’s school-shooting capital – Montreal.
