General Motors has released images of its Chevrolet HD Crew Z71 ‘Big Red’ ahead of the truck’s SEMA debut. Inspired by Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s “Big Red” Silverado that debuted at SEMA in 2006, the HD Crew Z71 uses GM Accessories to show how a 2500 HD Z71 — a model not currently offered by GM — might look.
Power for the show truck comes from a 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V8 which is mated to a six-speed Allison transmission. Other features include Z71 grille and bumper, Z71 underbody protection, Rancho shocks and a lifted ride height.
The show truck also includes a number of GM Accessories — both production and concept — such as a 20 x 35-inch wheel-and-tire package, integrated loading ramp running boards, hood louvers and a portable DVD system.
