Early look: GM’s 2007 heavy duty trucks

08/04/2006, 11:18 AM

By admin

Earlier today, we brought you spy shots of a GM heavy duty pickup in testing. But we’ve since found some photos of GM’s new heavy duty line sans disguise. At its press conference for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, General Motors also had the yet-to-be-announced pickups on hand. The trucks appeared in the background as GM CEO Rick Wagoner and other executives talked about the new Sierra and Silverado. The heavy duty trucks are distinguished by its full metal bumper and beefier looks. A red Sierra 3500 (1-ton) was also on hand. Gallery after the jump…

Betcha they are 1 million times better than some crappy Ford though :) Another winner here, byebye competition. GM owns the truck market. Everybody else is second rate garbage

It’s all Grill…
Ford makes a a decent truck too, but the base interior on Gm is much better than on Ford’s basic F series…
In my opinion Dodge has nothing on the two.
Toyota makes a decent truck but not a real work truck exspecially for their marked up price.

I would like to see GM providing some hardcore warranties.. not just matching but topping competition.

Looks so much better than their smaller cousins. Maybe the styling suits big grilles for it to work.
Although I have to agree it is again on the safe side and it still looks to Ford trucks for inspiration- no originality. The Duramax is the best engine for this truck all other GM gasoline OHV v-8s are inferior.

everyone is allowed their opinion on looks. everyone has different tastes.
IMHO, these are tools and looks usually are secondary. The GM truck line has always been a real good strong tool regardless of appearance. I think they look ok.
They will sell pretty good because they are strong, dependable, and long lasting.

GM is not making a comeback. They are just putting up a good front and all the worshipers are spreading the (false) word. 30 years of crap isn’t going to be erased in 1 month of better sales and words from GM corprorate.

Bet if you could speak to a former employer at Enron, you’d find a few that would tell you they were doing A-OK. And their supporters would probably believe them.
