Being the industry’s token ‘youth’ brand, customized Scion s are nothing new – especially at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. But because of Scion’s youth affiliation, the one off-designs are usually completely over the top, with flat screens and five-inch exhausts trumping good taste. But at this year’s SEMA Show, we stumbled across one Scion custom that we actually really liked.
Based on a Scion tC , Eddie Hahm of “Fast Eddie’s Garage” turned the modern two-door into a combination of 1940s fighter plane and retro-inspired rat rod.

To really set off the look, the tC sports a bare metal look, complete with actual rivets. A few splotches of paint, including a fighter plane shark mouth, give the tC a truly retro feel, as do hood louvers, leather hood straps and wire wheels.

Inside the tC is just about as bare as the exterior, with metal shell seats, an old-school steering wheel and a rat rod-correct shifter. Not quite the body kit and chrome wheels image Scion is going for these days, but a very nice one-off creation.
