Following some fairly in-depth and certainly admirable sleuthing by the folks over at Hemmings Blog (as well as their readership), the creator of the massive custom-built motorhome, which dates back (at least) to its 1962 Buick station wagon donor vehicles.

Hemming first ran a few photos of the unbelievably unique, truly custom-built motorhome back in early May, which managed to stir up a few memories and even additional photos from the readership.

Fast forward a few weeks, and now the readers believe they have identified the original owner and builder, Dennis McGuire, who unfortunately passed away in 1990. The readers are planning on speaking with other family members, however, as they continue their quest to discover both the origin – and the destination of this beat of a Buick .

For now, based on the pictures, readers have suggested that the motorhome consists of at least a pair of 1962 Buick station wagons, possibly more, along with a heck of a lot of ingenuity, blood, sweat and tears – no doubt. Whatever the case, we wish the folks at Hemming the best of luck in their detective work, and we look forward to finding the details on this vehicle’s heritage.

For some reason, though, we doubt we will see Monster Garage attempt a similar feat with the latest Buick Regal Wagon.
