Electric car promises 250 mile range, 0-60 in 4.5 sec

Carmaker Venturi has launched the Fétish, which it claims is the first electric-powered production sports car in the world. The Fétish is a major departure for Venturi, a company best known for luxury grand tourers. Advances in technology, Venturi says, have allowed it to harness the power available from the latest electric motors to give the Fétish outstanding performance figures. Power comes from lithium-ion electric batteries weighing a total of 772 pounds The company claims its 0-to-60-mph time is just below 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 105 mph and, crucially, a range of 250 miles.
