A Missouri company was contracted by Embassy Suites Nashville South hotel chain to create the first Nissan Leaf limousine. The car retains its electric powertrain and can now seat up to eight in more comfort, whereas the standard Leaf packs a maximum of five occupants.

The Leaf carries VIPs within five miles from the hotel, so range isn't an issue. The director of sales for Embassy Suites Nashville South, Trevor Goulding, said the creation is the world's first licensed, street legal electric limousine. The battery pack is in the rear of the car for better balance and to keep the conversion relatively simple. How much the range and performance of the car has suffered as a result isn't known.

The modifications include a welded-in center section that adds nearly 400lbs to the vehicle. The interior is now also filled with cedar paneling, mirrors, and soft leather, just like in more traditional limos. The roof is also now vinyl, though remains white.
