Exclusive Technical Studio TS07 sports car unveiled

09/29/2006, 7:08 PM

By admin

An independent carmaker called Technical Studio has unveiled the TS-07 — a highly-exclusive sports car that will be offered with four-, six-, or eight-cylinder propulsion. Just twelve cars will be built over the next year, according to the company. Constructed of aluminum, the TS07 weighs between 1,900 and 2,000 lbs, depending on engine.

The vehicle was designed by Gregory Gambara, who has worked in the French auto manufacturing industry for more than 15 years. The mid-engine rear-wheel-drive car will come with no less than 200 horsepower, and optional engines will bring it up to 400 horses. A five-speed manual is the only available transmission. Renault Spider on steroids.

Looks unfinished – gaps in the body panels are wide and uneven in places and the technology behind it is uninspiring.

What the hell?!? What kind of a bug did they squash to produce this thing? It looks like mix between a Ford GT and a Porsche 911 gone horribly wrong.

I kind of like it. Small manufacturer, low weight, different engine choices. I wish the the majors would get the idea that not everyone wants some overstuffed pig of a car weighing 3800 lbs.

As I mentioned before, it’s almost a coupe version of the Renault Spider.

I love it.

But I would like to have this one more:

The Superformance Daytona Coupe, the ultimate kit car.

A little too kit-car-ish.

Could even imagine a Fiero under those body panels.

It’s a Ferrari that melted in the sun!
Look, its nose melted and drooped!
And look, its tailights melted and drooped unevenly!

Looks dated. And the coarse look of the whole thing makes it look like some sort of kit-car.

I like the concept of getting to choose between 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines, allowing those who want low weight and low power to get what they want, and those who want bigger power but have to sacrifice a few more pounds to get it to get what they want. Unfortunately I dont like how it looks, something about it doesnt work, the most obvious ‘not working’ part being the rear. it just looks thrown together.

I dont like it. Not enough power, not enough good looking, not enough car.

I have to agree with some people that the car is definately ugly. Sorry Gembala. However, anyone who thinks this car does not have enough horsepower is very wrong. The new corvette, standard C6 version, weighs around 3300-3500 pounds I believe. That car is already fast at 400 horsepower. Now shave off around 1300-1500 pounds, and your acceleration, handling, and braking will be incredible, let alone how fast that car will be.

Nice packaging but to compete with Caterhams, Nobles, Atoms, etc. it should be alot better than it is…looks a bit rough in the details.

Not sure which side of the line between “car” and “kit car” it falls on.
