Following the successful launches of the California and F430 Scuderia Spyder, Ferrari unveiled a more potent version of its 599 GTB Fiorano at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed the 599 HGTE — for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione — the limited edition model will follow in the footsteps of the 575 M GTC and the 612 Scaglietti HGT-S, focusing more on all around performance rather than the car’s engine bay.

Changes from the standard car include a F430 Scuderia-inspired front grille, unique 20 inch wheels and revised exhaust outlets. Handling is improved via stiffer springs and thicker anti-roll bars. Inside, the HGTE sports new seats with carbon fiber shells and plenty of Alcantara and carbon fiber accents.

Power will remain unchanged at 612 horsepower.

The HGTE package will reportedly tack $42,000 onto the base price of the 599, but Ferrari has yet to release official pricing for the performance package.
