Our spy photographers have just sent us the first images of Ferrari’s 599 GTB Fiorano-successor, internally known as the F152. Although still covered in heavy camouflage, Ferrari’s latest GT is expected to be ready for a world debut at next March’s Geneva Motor Show.
The F152′s chassis will be loosely based on the FF’s, although it will feature a rear-drive layout. Thanks to the extensive use of aluminum and light-weight alloys, the new car should shed a significant chunk of weight compared to the 599.
Overall the F152′s styling is expected to be an evolution of the current 599, although some design cues from the 458 and FF will be mixed in. The car could make production under the F620 nameplate.
Set to blur the line between GT car and all-out sports car, the next-generation 599 will arrive with a 700 horsepower version of the FF’s 6.3L V12. That marks an 88 horsepower improvement over the current car.
Power will be routed via Ferrari’s seven-speed, dual clutch gearbox. An F1-style electronic rear differential will also be employed, ensuring all 700 ponies reach the pavement.
As you would expect of a 700 horsepower supercar, the F152 is set to return some incredible performance numbers. The sprint from 0-62 should flash by in just 3.2 seconds, with the car capable of a top speed of 215mph. That kind of performance doesn’t come cheap, though, with the 599 replacement likely to carry a price tag near $350,000.
