Fiat has taken the wraps off its Punto Evo ahead of the car’s Frankfurt Motor Show debut next month. Created as an evolution of the Grand Punto, the new Evo model promises plenty of style to go along with its fun-to-drive nature.
The Punto Evo will be available with a wide array of powerplants, including a 1.3L Multijet diesel and a 1.4L gas engine featuring Fiat’s fuel-saving MultiAir technology. Punto Evo buyers will even have the option of a new dual-fuel methane and gas engine.
Stop and start technology will be standard across the Punto Evo range.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, the Punto Evo puts a premium on occupant safety. The Punto Evo features seven air bags, including a driver’s knee air bag. Other safety equipment includes a Hill-Holder system, adaptive fog lights, ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution and ESP.
Following its Frankfurt debut, the Fiat Punto Evo will hit the European market during the second half of October.

I don’t care if it breaks down once a month, I’d still take it over a Caliber!

yes, i really can’t get past “punto”, and putting “evo” in the name doesn’t help, unless these are 300+ bhp awd rally cars with godly performance…

I like the interior.
sprockkets- Don’t you mean spanish?
I could see this being a mini-Caliber, with lighter proportions than the Caliber which is quite chunky. Or I could even see it as a next generation PT Cruiser, if it was built a little bit taller and wider.

Doesn’t the use of “Evo”, “Evolution” or “Evoluzione” in a car’s model name usually point towards some kind of racing heritage in that specific model or a homologation of an actual racing model specifically built to compete in a certain class of sanctioned racing?
They ought to call it something else.

Only an idiot would judge a car on its reputation over 25 years ago…
Now the “fix it again Tony” is more relevant to american cars…
The technology in this car is probably 5 years ahead of what America produces…Man your cars are soooooo 5hit.

Barry , I too can’t understand all this FIAT bashing from 25 years ago. Oh well, I guess people forgot what GM, Ford and Chrysler products were like back then…..(shrug shoulders here ! )

The people who think like this are the people who read headlines to get their daily source of info, they don’t actually research anything themselves.
