Fisker’s Karma electric sedan first appeared as a concept at the 2008 North American International Auto Show, only to be introduced a year later at the same venue as a production model. At this year’s show, Fisker showed off its Karma S concept, and it looks as though the electric drop top could be following in the Karma sedan’s footsteps.
According to a new report, Fisker has begun taking orders for its Karma S convertible. Moreover, the first deliveries of Karma S are slated for the second half of 2011.
Fisker has yet to release pricing for the Karma S, but early indications suggest it will be priced at a premium over its fixed-roof counterpart. While deposits for the Karma have been running prospective buyers $5,000, Fisker is reportedly taking $25,000 in advance for the Karma S.
Like the Karma sedan, the Karma S will have an all-electric range of about 40 miles, with the performance to match its swooping body lines.
