mazdaman: "Ford's top tier U.S. brand deserves better treatment than to receive badge engineered Ford clones to fill up Lincoln's lineup."

You're always talking sense, but this just had to be singled out.

Hate it! Hate it! Hate it! I can’t believe there going through with this Car/SUV/Crossover. I think the Flex is the ugliest thing ever, and I’ve seen my shit before and that looks nicer. And I think putting a Lincoln grill on it and calling it a Lincoln MKYUTC1234…… is not going to make it better. Lincoln please fix what you already have before you start making “NEW” (warmed over) Fords because you will be fixing this in a year and changing the name and call it “The all new” (INSERT NAME HERE) ala…..Sable/ Taurus

Commodore.. why does it have to be called MKF? Wouldn't F just remind people this is a rebodied Flex? MKV is too obvious, why would they want to remind us it is basically a van without any of the usefulness of a van (sliding doors, raised roof, removable seating)? I'm guessing they'll opt for something like MKC (crossover), MKL (luxury or long), MKXL or MKX L (long-wheelbase MKX) or maybe the MKT Robert suggested, though i have no idea what the T would stand for.

I hope all the idiots on this board realize that the only thing the real Lincoln MKT will retain is the front grille.

The body is supposed to be quite swoopy like the Mercedes R-class when it debuts. I think we'll see it in NY.

I agree with jayjc08: this test mule is not fully representative of the final product's styling. The camouflage is only covering the front end of the vehicle. The rest of the vehicle should hopefully look quite a bit different from this test mule.

My biggest hope is that they follow the MKS practice of platform sharing and give this vehicle its own unique exterior/interior design. If Ford just slaps a Lincoln front/rear styling treatment on the Flex and tries to pass it off as a Lincoln like they did with the MKX/Edge and MKZ/Milan/Edge, then I will totally give up on Ford's long term survival. Ford's top tier U.S. brand deserves better treatment than to receive badge engineered Ford clones to fill up Lincoln's lineup. They ruined Mercury by utilizing this practice; I sincerely hope they have learned their lesson about how to properly share platforms among divisions. For Lincoln to become and remain relevant as a near luxury division (Ford has appeared to have completely given up on restoring Lincoln to a true full luxury brand), they will need to offer products that are distinct and upscale from their Ford brand platform mates.

Needless to say, this wagon/minivan/truck/car will not beat the Lambdas

Now the big controversy.. what will they call it? Considering the state of Ford's Lincoln Mercury division and the apparent infighting between the brands for exclusive product.. the only logical name would be FLUX!

to be honest lincoln has way to many SUVs/CUVs for a "luxury" company.

they should focus on more sedans !
maybe a coupe perhaps.

it looks like an extended taurus X

and the american companies have a bad habit of making the same vehicle just adding luxury stuff on it. i dont see honda doing that to acura lol

although the civic is re-badged as a acura in canada!

Cool, a Lincoln minivan!

Seriously, I hope they don't just do a simple reskin of the Flex for Lincoln. Hasn't everyone learned yet that badge-engineering is an inherently bad thing?
