Why can’t Ford bring their good European things to the North American market?

These don’t sell very well here in Europe… The coupé-cabriolet is already a competitive niche-market, with the Opel Astra CC, VW Eos, Peugeot 307 CC, Renault Mégane CC, etc… In the US, you guys have the v.good VW Eos! Looks more premium-ish than a “regular” Ford Focus. That’s why they don’t call it the VW Golf CC.

Drop tops in most guises dont work for me… Exceptions include old ’stangs, E30 BMWs, Escort Cabs (Chavviness at its best) and a few select others…

Still, the Focus is, as RagazzaCompetitione mentioned, a generic CC… Here we have anything from a Micra CC to the 307s, Focusses etc…

Top up this looks awkward as hell. I’ll go smash my thumb with a hammer later, but the Sebring convertible is a much classier drop top. Go drive one with the 3.5. As long as you don’t have a need to push your car to 9/10ths all the time it’s a very nice ride.

I don’t know about you guys.. but with a 2.0L or 2.4L motor, this would be a really sweet vehicle. I am not a fan of ford, but if they were to bring some of their euro cars over and used mazda engines in their cars, i would suddenly lose interest in the ‘08 civic coupe and scion tC i’m looking at right now.

I think Ford SHOULD bring this car to the U.S., but I also think they need to change the name from Focus to something else. This car would probably come in around $25,000-and I think people associate the name Focus with cheap. In other words, I know a lot of people who WOULD buy this car, but would NOT be proud to say they bought a Focus. It does not look like a Focus in the U.S., and therefore it MIGHT have a chance at success with a different name. My suggestion? The Ford Falcon.
