08/03/2006, 4:57 PM

By admin

Back in June, we told you how Foose Design and Unique Performance were working on a limited edition line of 1970 HEMI Challengers with performance, interior, and visual enhancements. The first production unit has been finished, complete with a 426 c.i.d HEMI big block, mated to the TKO 5-speed transmission. Gallery after the jump…

People just don’t know the meaning of a muscle car or legend these days, they screwed this one up. Atheletes and rappers will drool over it.

Chip Foose has never let me down. His designs are always amazing in my book. Only thing I’m not crazy about is the yellow. Yellow paint just isn’t my thing.

im disappointed. i expect much more from a big name like foose. this car looks ugly

The yellow paint isn’t my thing either i would have made it red and black without the silver blocks.. but thats all personel preference.. Also since it isn’t going to be an original numbers match car anyway why not stick in the 528 hemi create motor instead of the 426 ? Its got a lot more guts and the bottom end is stronger too… again personel preference i guess its just what I would have done and i am sure lots of people wouldn’t like my ideas either… can’t please everyone. Either way Chip is one real genius designer..

I agree that the strobe striping leaves little to be desired. The wheels are cool as hell though. They are the stock wheel design made out of aluminum at a larger diameter with a polished finish. Nice retro design. The interior is very nice as well although my version would be sans that TV/Stereo monitor. Now that I think about he did a car on his Overhaulin show that looks pretty close to this one minus the Hemi.

get rid of those wheels, install some nice TT2’s and you got a winner.

How about this Foose: dont take an already cool car, and ruin the whole concept of it with paint thats just a tad too gaudy for Snoop Dogg, wheels that arent quite gaudy enough for him, and racing harnesses in a car that isn’t meant to take corners at more than maybe 30 mph in normal conditions. that car just wasn’t made to be a custom-painted pimpmobile.

this car looks exactly like the challenger he did on overhaulin, except that one was green. i find it very odd that he would do the exact same thing again. i think that this is just a photoshopped picture of the overhauled challenger, but that is just my opinion.

Foose can suck it all year week long. For what he’s asking for a reworked childish looking piece of junk, you could actually buy a real car like an M5.

ugh, what a screw-up…the concept was a lot better–bling bling athletes & rappers with go crazy–I hate bling bling–especially this awful paintjob–

Ah Foose…more two-tone with graphic at break line.

Does he ALWAYS have to do a two-tone with a flashy graphic at the break-line??

And to exaggerate the droopy lids of the taillamps reminds me Foose always has droopy 4:20 eye lids…

I would take the ‘08 from the factory over this chop-job. The inside on Fooses’ is too ghetto for me.

Since Foose is a GM guy wonder what he’ll do with the Camaro? It’s probably going to be the sickest beast ever (Should be 1 thousand times better than some Mopar crap)

Thats very unFoose like. Hopefully we get to see a TAKE two version of this car. Foose take it back and repaint it. Then Swap the wheels with something way more open so we can see the rotors. The wheels would look nice on a 300 but not a Challenger.

I think the biggest issue with the paint is how the grey stripes don’t integrate well with the body shape as you can see from the rear and clutter the lines of the vehicle. Foose typically takes a old car and cleans up the lines not muddy them up.

Just my two cents.

Clean and sleek both inside and out, this is a TRUE retro design not just an overweight box with a bad interior (cough:Charger). This is what the Charger should have looked like. I like this car a lot! :)

Hi I’m jessie. I love the way you desighned the dodge challenger my favorite car is the dodge charger but it’s still awsome. Soon I’m going to make me a dodge charger out of just a frame. Your work has helped me know more about cars especially on overhaulin, one of my favorite shows. I’m just saying thanks for showing me more about cars. Maybe when I finish my car I might show it to you and it will have foose wheels, if I can find them, so maybe you can tell me how to find them.

To all you GM buttholes out there, dont be hating just cause the Mopars are bringing “way” more money than your crapbox LS6 Schmitvelle or RS SS Camaro. My 1987 Dodge Lancer Turbo 2.2 litre 4 cyl front wheel drive 4 door whoops ass on almost those old GM and Ford kaka boxes. Truth be told all the Mopars Fords and GM cars can run and drive good if they are built right. I am sorry but the Mopar slant six is the most reliable automotive engine ever built!

by fer now!

I’m glad to be an American, where we can each have what we each want, if you are willing to spend the money. I have been building cars for myself and alot of great people, for 30 years now,and no two people like the same thing. What Foose has done is not my idea of an American muscle car, but I bet he has NO trouble selling it.Its real easy to be critical, but show us some of your work before you shoot the man.As for the Chevy dude who thinks Mopar sucks, Arent you glad YOU can drive a Chevy??? I build them and work on lots of them, but I prefer Mopar to anything else, the chevy is in MY OPINION a cheap, tinny, car for those that cant afford a Mopar or a Ford. You can see some of the cars I do, Mopars, Olds, Pontiac etc. And I dont mind if someone does things diffrent than me. Thats why I fought in Vietnam, to keep America Free of small minded tyrants that think there way is the only way. This is America,And we are free to have it our way, including you. So cut the guy alittle slack, so what if its different than my 70 Challenger or yours. He put a heavy breather together HIS way,and so can the rest of us. I have a 67 Coronet, Hemi & 6-speed O.D. and theres none like it, also 5 other cars that I LOVE.The 67 will do 55 in 1st gear, 105 in second and tops out over 200mph, if you wanted to.But thats my way. Lets play nice and if you KNOCK someones work, we’d like to see what marvalous things you have built. HEMIDON
