Audi won’t market a version of its new A6 Allroad in the United States. Audi’s toughest A6 wagon is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Although the A6 Allroad has been sold on these shores before, Audi has decided to reserve the newest model for the European market. “We won’t get the A6 Allroad in the U.S.,†an Audi spokesman told Inside Line.
Intended to straddle the line between wagon and SUV, the A6 Allroad offers 2.3 inches more ground clearance than the standard car, and even sports off-road equipment like front and rear skid plates. The A6 Allroad will be offered with four engines, including a 3.0 TDI unit that generates 308 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
But those wanting a rugged Audi wagon aren’t completely out of luck. Audi’s new A4 Allroad will hit U.S. showrooms this June.
