The Detroit News has a great look at the various vehicle product placements in Hollywood films. Most recently, Ford and GM reportedly lobbied hard to get their vehicles cast alongside Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible III.” In the end, Ford’s Land Rover LR3 was chosen. From “The Matrix,” to “Crash,” to “007,” vehicles often become recognizable symbols of the movies in which they appear. It’s no secret that movie and TV show placements are among the most desirable ways to promote a car. When a brand new Mercury Milan appeared on MTV’s “The Real World” the cast was pretty excited. But not as excited “as the Ford Motor Co. executives watching the footage on a big plasma screen in the automaker’s Beverly Hills office.”

Dodge gets some placement with the Stratus that Tom Cruise is blown against. Although DCX probably doesn’t care.

Sure it wasn”t hard. Had they used a Hummer there would have been protests.

Automakers one way of introducing their vehicles is have it seen on a movie like that of Mission Imposible.. A list of cars that has been a part or seen on a movie can be found at Toyota Fans’ Blog – Do You Want To Know Where Your Toyota Has Been?
