Ford car sales up, truck sales down

07/03/2006, 12:49 PM

By admin

Ford’s U.S. sales for the month of June fell seven percent overall, compared to the same period last year. Car sales were up 10.7 percent, while truck sales fell 14 percent. Ford’s F-Series truck, America’s best-selling vehicle, posted June sales of 65,452, down 10 percent compared with a year ago. Explorer sales were off 36 percent in June and Expedition sales were off 46 percent. This discontinuation of the Excursion also pushed Ford sales down. Overall sales at Lincoln, Jaguar, and Volvo were down 11.1, 25.2, and 11.4 percent, respectively. Land Rover posted a modest gain, and Mercury was virtually flat. [data sheet]

Guess I will have to eat my words on PAG I knew jag was not doing so hot but I didn’t know it was that bad. I thought volvo was doing much better our volvo store is rocking.

Nice to see those V8 SUV’s take a hit. The only way those gavonnes in Detroit will pay attention, is when product comes close to having a birthday on the lot.

Lincoln and Jag could vanish next Thursday for all they provide the consumer.

The Volvo numbers don’t surprise me. When we bought our S60 T5 at the end of 2002 (it was a brand new leftover 2002 model), we paid just under $33K out the door (the only option it did not have was the cold weather package and it stickered for almost $40K) because they were not moving as many as they’d hoped. Around January of this year I stopped by the dealer to drop our car off for service. I could have driven away in a well equipped (not loaded though) 2006 T5 for about $33K so obviously they’re not selling well. Regardless, I love our T5 – 57K miles of troublefree motoring.

That is probably the stupidest comment I have ever seen on here. Please remove yourself from the gene pool before your stupidity kills the human species. ( As I roll away in my King Ranch F350 that gets 24mpg on the highway, punk…)
