On the heels of General Motors’ announcement of a European production pause, Ford Motor Company says they’ll be cutting production numbers and more than 200 part-time workers at a factory in Saarlouis, Germany. Ford produces the C1-platform Focus, C-Max and the new Kuga SUV at its Saarlouis plant.
Ford cites global financial turmoil as the reason for the production cuts, specifics of which have not been announced, according to the Associated Press. It’s expected that most of the cuts will be on the C-Max MPV’s numbers since the C1-platform Focus is selling well and the Kuga is a new model, but a Ford spokesperson declined to reveal more details.
