Ford has delayed the launch of its critical Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers to mid-December instead this month. Ford told dealers there were a number of small problems at the Oakville, Ontario, factory that needed to be resolved before production could go ahead.

Ford hopes to sell 100,000 $26,000 Edge CUVs and 30,000 MKX units per year. The automaker has been adamant both vehicles leave the factory with a highly competitive level of quality. Recently, Ford said it enlisted the help of former Toyota quality expert Kathi Hanley, who identified more than 70 significant issues and hundreds of minor concerns that could affect the vehicle’s reliability if not addressed.
